What do HubSpot partner tiers mean?

Five tiers. What each one tells you, and what it does not.

HubSpot's Solutions Partner Program has five tiers: Solutions Partner, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Elite. Partners move up by earning points for the HubSpot revenue they bring in, help close and manage. Diamond and Elite also require customers to stay, with average gross revenue retention of at least 75% and 80%. Tier signals scale and retention. It does not signal fit.

How are HubSpot partner tiers earned?

Partners earn tier points in three ways: sourced points for customers they bring to HubSpot, assisted points for helping close HubSpot-sourced deals, and managed points for the customers they look after. Points are awarded per USD 100 of monthly recurring revenue (HubSpot).

Every partner needs a valid Solutions Partner Certification, renewed by one employee every 25 months. HubSpot reviews tiers twice a year, on 15 January and 15 July, and partners can move up on the 15th of any month (HubSpot).

What does each tier tell a buyer?

  • Solutions Partner. The partner is certified and verified by HubSpot.
  • Gold. The partner has an established base of HubSpot customers.
  • Platinum. A larger base, with access to HubSpot co-marketing and early product previews.
  • Diamond. A large base and proven retention: on average, customers keep at least 75% of their HubSpot revenue with the partner.
  • Elite. The largest base, at least 80% retention and 100 or more user certifications, with access to HubSpot consulting support for client integrations and technical strategy.

The thresholds above are the ones HubSpot publishes for its review on 15 January 2027 (HubSpot). HubSpot updates them from year to year, so check the current figures.

Why does retention matter more than size?

Points measure how much HubSpot revenue a partner brings in and manages. Gross revenue retention measures whether those customers stay. From Diamond upward, HubSpot requires both. For a buyer, retention is the closer signal to what you want: a system that is still used, and paying off, years after go-live.

What does a tier not tell you?

A tier says nothing about whether a partner is on the ground in your markets, how deep its migration and integration work goes, whether it runs AI agents in production, how it handles data protection, or whether its references look like you. Use the six tests for choosing a HubSpot partner for those, and compare HubSpot onboarding with partner onboarding before you decide who builds.

Questions.

Is a higher HubSpot partner tier always better?

Not always. A higher tier shows more HubSpot revenue under management and, at Diamond and Elite, strong customer retention. Fit with your markets, systems and industry matters as much.

How often do HubSpot partner tiers change?

HubSpot reviews partner tiers twice a year, on 15 January and 15 July. Partners can also move up a tier on the 15th of any month.

How do I check a partner's tier?

Ask the partner for their current tier and check their profile in HubSpot's Solutions Directory before you sign.
