How do you choose a HubSpot partner in Southeast Asia?

Six tests. Tier is only the first.

Choose a HubSpot partner in Southeast Asia on six tests: partner tier, presence in your markets, migration and integration depth, AI agents in live use, data protection practice for each market, and references from organisations like yours. Tier shows scale with HubSpot. The other five show fit.

What do HubSpot partner tiers tell you?

HubSpot's Solutions Partner Program has five tiers: Solutions Partner, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Elite. Partners move up by earning points from the customers they bring to and grow on HubSpot. At Diamond and Elite, partners must also meet an average gross revenue retention threshold, which means their customers stay. HubSpot's tier guide also requires partners to complete the certifications and accreditations for their tier (HubSpot).

Tier is a useful signal of scale and retention (see HubSpot partner tiers explained). It does not tell you whether a partner fits your markets, your systems or your industry. The next five tests do.

Is the partner on the ground in your markets?

Southeast Asia is many markets, not one. Ask where the partner has offices and people, which languages they deliver in, and which countries they have taken live. A regional rollout needs someone who understands local sales processes, messaging habits and data protection law in each one.

How deep is their migration and integration work?

Most enterprises arrive with a legacy CRM, an ERP and customer data in several places. Ask to see a migration plan from a comparable project: how they audit data, design one customer model, migrate in waves and rebuild integrations. Ask specifically about messaging channels. WhatsApp connects natively, while Viber and LINE need custom channels or Marketplace apps (HubSpot Knowledge Base).

Can they run AI agents in production?

HubSpot now ships agents such as Customer Agent and Prospecting Agent, managed in Agent Hub (HubSpot). Ask which agents the partner has in production, not in a demo. Ask how they build the business context agents rely on, who owns each agent, and how results are measured.

How do they handle data protection?

HubSpot hosts data in the EU, Canada, Australia and the United States, with no data centre in Southeast Asia (HubSpot). A good partner treats cross-border transfer documentation, consent on messaging channels and data minimisation as part of the design, not a final sign-off.

What should references show?

Ask for references from organisations like yours: similar size, similar number of markets, similar systems. Ask the reference what went wrong and how the partner handled it. Ask whether the system is still in use and who runs it today.

What should you ask in a first meeting?

  • Which revenue number would you design this around?
  • Who on your team would do the work, and where are they based?
  • Who runs the system after go-live?

Azend Group is one example of a partner to test against this list: a HubSpot Diamond Solutions Partner with offices in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Makati.

Questions.

Should the partner also handle our HubSpot licences?

It can simplify things. A partner that owns licences and implementation is one party accountable for the outcome.

Should the same partner handle strategy, implementation and AI?

Fewer handoffs mean fewer gaps. If you use several firms, agree who owns the customer data model and the revenue number.
